Wedding Trends: 2021 Weddings Are All About Making a Statement

2021 Weddings Are All About Making a Statement

Let’s face it weddings were never easygoing affairs but since the Covid-19 crisis, there has been a whole other level of panic associated with them. Not to fret, all you need to know is that selective, well-planned touches mean you can still have the wedding of your dreams (and nightmares if you are a type-A personality) without compromise. We predict that 2021 weddings are all about making a statement.

Micro-weddings are a great option but they may not work for everyone especially if you are invested in making sure your wedding has all the fixings of a fairytale event. Many people are convinced that zoom weddings (with matching backdrops) may be the way to go but full-scale weddings are still totally a thing in 2021.

The Illusion of Size

The scale of the wedding need not be brought down but smarter choices enable you to have a safer and more dynamic celebration in which even vulnerable members of the family such as children or aged people can attend.

For starters, if you can skip out on inviting members of extended family that you saw last when you were six years old, then definitely go for it. Furthermore, create the illusion that you are keeping the gathering intimate (especially if you aren’t) so that it becomes generally acceptable if colleagues of your last three workplaces aren’t sent an invite.

You can also create watch parties on social media sites so out of town loved ones can still take part in your special day. Many couples have taken to hiring professionals to make sure their virtual wedding is perfect.

Outward Appearances

Now that you have limited the wedding party to only those people who truly matter to you and care about you, you can invest the money in elaborate décor planning which will always be memorable when you look back at photos and videos. The flowers can be bigger, the food more diverse, and the table settings more unique and detail-oriented.

Many couples have used the extra money for especially nice touches such as custom stationery (for people to take home or write out love notes to you in). There is also a bigger emphasis on exceptional lighting installations (think more than just fairy lights) such as crystal chandeliers, hanging vintage lanterns, light branches, candlelight fixtures, and so on.

The Apple of Your Eye

The food at weddings always lends itself to people gathering around, which in current circumstances is a potential health threat and a problematic aspect to the wedding itself. As a solution to this, many wedding planners suggest making special food boxes (maybe with a note inside as an added touch) so that everyone can be given their meal one by one and no one is standing in line or huddling close to a buffet or pecking table.

You can also make wedding favors to this effect by adding your favorite chocolates and sweets and maybe a small but useful item such as a customized ballpoint pen. The same applies to booze; miniature bottles can be given to each guest with their box.
