Stoop Weddings Are Becoming The Hottest Wedding Venues
Hey, ya’ll. Wow! Are we super excited about the newest 2021 wedding trend – stoop weddings? Couples are being super creative in finding new ways to tie the knot when COVID-19 dictates that a big wedding ain’t gonna happen. Sure, tons of couples are eloping or having smaller events in a friend or family member’s back yard. And these are turning out absolutely beautiful. But if you want something unexpected, unique, and definitely an Insta-worthy wedding, tie the knot on a brownstone wedding stoop (or front porch).
We know a stoop doesn’t seem like a particularly romantic, or special spot to say “I Do!” and it certainly doesn’t sound dreamy. But for many that live the “city life” and don’t have a backyard, rooftop, or balcony this is a small slice of the great outdoors that is special.

Stoop Weddings Are Incredibly Romantic & Totally Insta-Worthy
In 2020 the Coronavirus forced couples to cancel, postpone and get creative. For those that wanted to just ditch the big event and get married in 2020 they opted for courthouse ceremonies, eloping, or intimate weddings.
Outdoor weddings were the go-to venues as they provided more space to social distance and fresh air helped to get guests and the couples safe. But when you live in a big city, outdoor spaces can be hard to come by. Not sure who was the first couple to say “let’s get married on our stoop”, or how this came to be but we absolutely love it!

Stoop weddings A Hot 2021 Wedding Trend
So, how do you pull off an unbelievable stoop wedding? The first thing you have to do is talk to your neighbors. You don’t want to intrude in their life (too much), so make sure you speak to them and get their approval.
Next, check with your local government agencies to verify if a permit is needed.
Once you have the approval of neighbors and the government, here’s what to do.
- Find an officiant
- Decide on what you will wear
- Select stoop wedding decor
- Figure out if you want to hire a professional photographer or have a friend photograph it
If you’re planning a stoop wedding please don’t skip decking it out with florals. It’s your wedding day and it should be special, so splurge on oversized floral explosions in your favorite colors. Or if you really don’t have a favorite color ask your florist to design something that’s vibrant.
You will want to have incredible photos to cherish of your special day and having these florals and a bouquet will help to make your photos absolutely dreamy.
Don’t have a stoop? No, worries! Your front porch will work just fine. This is a fun, unexpected, and totally rocking way to say “I Do” in 2021.
