Pre-Wedding Prep: Your Complete Timeline of Beauty Treatments

Pre-Wedding Prep: Your Complete Timeline of Beauty Treatments

Looking beautiful on your wedding day is one of the best feelings in the world. Feeling like the world is at your fingers, and having your friend and family adoring you does not happen often, but if there is a day you wish to look back on and feel your best, it should be your wedding day. Pre-wedding prep should not be neglected in any way shape or form.

Having a timeline of when and what beauty treatments to have in the lead-up to the big day will give you the best opportunity to look your best.

Some treatments are a longer-term investment, and other treatments need to be booked months in advance to guarantee you a spot in your beauty clinicians’ chair.

How To Look Your Best On Your Wedding Day

From brides who have scheduled the perfect timeline for looking beautiful on their big day, we have compiled a Pre-Wedding Prep list of what to consider from one year to one day in the lead-up to your wedding.

1 Year Prior: Booking Your Treatments

One year from now, you will be walking down the aisle, due to wed the love of your life. Whilst the anticipation can be exciting enough, the start of your preparations must now begin. There is no problem if you have exceeded the year time frame, however, if you are still within the limit it is best to streamline the preparations.
This would include finding your makeup artist for the wedding day, as well as the hairstylist who will be performing hair magic on you. Take time to do your research, and keep in mind the most desirable makeup and hair artists will already be booked for the year so be quick! Try to be transparent with what you are looking for, and book your trial appointments also.
Any beauty treatment you are wanting to have at least a week before the wedding must be booked at the one-year mark. Call it excessive, but you will thank yourself when looking your best is effortless.

9 Months Prior: Your Skin Pre-Wedding Prep & Health Care

Now the venue is booked, you have found your dream dress and the guests have hopefully received their invitation, it’s game time. At least months before the wedding, you should begin making long-term investments which you will fully benefit from when it comes to the time of the wedding.
This includes having regular facials if you are looking for a permanent glow and also investing in your health and fitness. Now is not the time to have a diuretic fitness change, especially if you have chosen your dress. Instead make small investments such as keeping a balanced diet, and avoiding excessive processed foods to avoid inflammatory responses.
Perhaps start a new fitness class to tone up if you are looking for some definition, and follow this routine religiously in the lead-up to the wedding.

6 Months Prior: Cosmetic Tweaks & Trials

Now you are 6 months away from the wedding, it’s time for trials and testing. If you have been considering cosmetic treatments of any kind to tweak and fix any imperfections, now is the time to have this done. If you are a first-timer, make sure you are having minimal amounts of any treatment such as botox or filler, as the changes might not be what you were hoping for. If you do end up loving the treatment, you can consider having a top-up closer to the time of the wedding. Also, if you are looking for any serious dental work such as composite bonding, make sure that you are booking in with your private dentist in Leamington Spa to ensure you have your time slot. This also gives you time to make any dental tweaks in the lead-up to the wedding.

Two Months Prior:
Hair Color Confirmation

In two months, you will be saying I do, so as part of your Pre-Wedding Prep you need to correct any hair color complications and have your wedding day hair tested.

If you are having any dramatic changes such as changing your hair color completely this will be best done two months before to give you time to get used to it and have time for small top-ups closer to the day.

Additionally, around this time you should be confirming the hairstyle you want for the day. Having a trial day with your hairstylist is important if you want to get your hair right the first time on the big day, so don’t skip booking in with your hairdresser.

Two Weeks Prior: Hair Removal & Lashes

As you edge closer to the day, it is time to crack down on immediate appointments. This means getting any or all hair removed from your body and also getting your eyelash treatments done if wanted. Assuming you are waxing, this will require some time to settle and be perfected.

Keep in mind if you are considering laser hair removal, this should ideally be started a year from the big day, so add your laser appointments to your list of appointments from one year!

Also, for an effortless and stunning eyelash look, you may consider having extensions. Having them done between two to one week before the wedding is ideal, as it can be a time-consuming treatment when there will be so little time before the big day!

Pre-Wedding Prep: One Week Prior: Nails

T minus 7 days, you will be walking down the aisle and having your ring placed onto the ring finger. However, without a beautiful manicure, it just won’t feel the same! A week before the wedding you should be having your fresh manicure and pedicure. Your nail appointment should be done with your trusted nail lady. Make sure it is a unique design that will complement your overall look, and don’t be afraid to be picky. These are your wedding nails after all, they need to be perfect.

Days Before: Tanning & Final Touches

The last and final finishing touches towards looking like the most beautiful version of yourself is having your tan and final tweaks done. If you are having a spray tan, make sure you are spending an extra penny to have a reliable tan. The last thing you need is your dark tan peeling off onto your white wedding dress. Also, if any eyelashes are missing, nails need tweaking, or even hairs need pulling, make sure this is done before the day of the wedding to avoid last-minute stress.

There you have it, a complete timeline recommended by past and soon-to-be brides. Of course, this timeline will differ between each soon to be wed, however having an accurate timeline of the treatments that need to be done and when will save unnecessary stress, and ensure you look breathtaking on your special day.
