The Ultimate Guide To Having Perfect Wedding Hair
3 – 6 Months Before The Wedding:
Your focus should start to shift a little more towards planning the look. Things you want to think about are how long do you want your hair to be, what color or highlights are you wanting, and do you want to wear your hair up or down. The worst thing you can do is wait until the last minute before your wedding to get your hair colored and decide you hate it. Coloring multiple times in a short period of time will damage your hair and make for a very unhappy bride. So follow these steps for success.
- Get your color straight! We always suggest highlights/ baby lights in your hair to show the details of the style. Don’t wait until the last minute to try a new color. You want to have time to perfect it.
- Consult your Stylist to make sure a trim every 4 weeks is still necessary
- Order extensions if you think you need them. Ask your stylist for 100% human hair halo extensions to our brides, they are affordable, reusable, comfortable, and about 3 times thicker than any other extension on the market.
- Send your Pinterest inspiration board to your Stylist so they can help you understand if what you like can be achieved with your hair. They may suggest needing the extensions to achieve the look you desire.
1-3 Months Before The Wedding:
This is the time to maintain your regimen and finalize the look with your stylist.
- Plan your last trimming and color. We recommend 1-2 weeks before the wedding to be sure your color is perfect.
- Continue your recommended conditioning treatments
- Review your hairstyle choice to make sure it is perfect for your special day.
- Schedule and complete your wedding hair trial. Email your wedding stylists any notes or changes you have for your wedding day.
Week Of The Wedding:
Oh, the anticipation is mounting the nerves are growing and there are so many final details to put into place. Luckily your hair routine this week is going to be one of the easiest things to handle.
- Wash your hair every other day! That’s it. No other intense hair care is needed.
Day Before The Wedding:
- If you have thick hair you should wash your hair the day before.
- Thin hair may get oily easy so we recommend washing oily hair the morning of the wedding. Just make sure to wash and blow it dry at least 2 hours before styling.
- As a stylist, it is much easier for us to dirty up your hair than curl/style oily flat hair.
